| Windows Application Design |
|
Windows application development has evolved from DOS and Windows 3.1 to Win32, MFC, and now .NET.
Each new API builds on the successes and failures of its predecessors. From a developer's perspective,
Microsoft's popular Visual Studio development tools have remained a stable and well-documented path to
create new applications.
DeLise Consulting has specialized in creating Windows apps that communicate with embedded controllers via
serial ports, TCP/IP over internet, ethernet, or cell modem connections. In most cases, the interface
includes a custom binary protocol with error detection and correction. Sometimes the protocol is a
standard such as Modbus/RTU or Modbus/TCP.
